Questions

Still unsure? Call or text 437-525-2544.

Is the nearest school the one my child would attend?

Not always. Each school board draws attendance boundaries (catchment areas), and a home can be zoned for a school that isn't the closest one. Use the board links in your results to confirm the designated school for the exact address before you buy.

Which areas does it cover?

Toronto, Peel (Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon), York Region, Halton (Oakville, Burlington, Milton) and Durham, for the public, Catholic and the two French-language school boards.

Where does the school list come from?

The Ontario Ministry of Education's list of publicly funded schools and its 2024–25 school information and EQAO data, with extra locations from Statistics Canada's Open Database of Educational Facilities. Private schools aren't included.

What do the EQAO scores mean?

EQAO is Ontario's provincial testing office. Each score is the share of a school's students who met the provincial standard on the 2024–25 tests: reading and math in Grades 3 and 6, Grade 9 math, and the Grade 10 literacy test (OSSLT). Green marks a school 5 or more points above the average Ontario school, red 5 or more below. Small schools sometimes have no published result.

Do you show Fraser Institute school rankings?

No. The Fraser Institute's rankings are its own published work, so we link to compareschoolrankings.org instead of copying them. The EQAO results shown here come straight from the Ontario government's open data, which the Fraser rankings are largely built on.

Why not show catchment boundaries directly?

The school boards publish their boundaries only through their own lookup tools, and their terms don't allow other websites to copy them. Linking to each board's lookup is the reliable way to confirm.
